Movie Review

Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Rated: PG
Starring: Kevin James

This is the story of a 10 year veteran mall cop who takes his job a little too seriously and dreams of someday becomming a state trooper. After the busiest shopping day of the year, thieves try to plunder and steal from the mall and Paul Blart is left to single-handedly rescue the hostages and save the day.

Becky's rating: C-/D+

In this true-to-formula film, you can't help but to root for the underdog and boo/hiss for the villain. However, it's so formulaic that it was just not hardly worth my time. It had a few cute moments and it would most definitely be a movie to take your family to with children over about 7. Not that it's necessarily inappropriate for younger kids, but I can assure you it won't hold their attention. No big surprises during this film, so don't expect 'em.

Bottom line: Wait until it comes out on DVD and watch it after you've rearranged your Tupperware cabinet and reorganized all your income taxes for the last 10 years. (No really, it wasn't THAT bad... but...I don't intend to see it again.)
