Bad Blogger!

Bad!

I'm back....Here's the final update on the slab leak that I left hanging. The plumber took a full day to do the repair work. They found two leaks after they got down under the slab. Both were easy to repair, but getting to them took a little work. Thankfully (and I am SOOO thankful when I say 'thankfully') they did not have to drill through any of the wood flooring to get to it. All the drilling was done in the water heater closet. YAY! We did have to rip up some flooring nonetheless to address the buckled wood, but it is not an obnoxious amount. The warranty company covered 40% of the total and our part was not embarrassingly outrageous, just uncomfortable, especially right before the biggest holiday of the year. The boys have been bunking together in Blaine's room since all of this since Braylon's floor is ripped up and we found some mold under it where the floor was sitting in a pool of water for several days. I'm looking forward to a few days off next week and hope that something might be accomplished during that time. We have all the equipment and know-how. Now we just need the time, energy and will-power to fix it.

On a completely different note, we gave the boys their Christmas gift from Brandon and I early. Yesterday we finished the adoption process of a 3 year old small Spaniel mix dog. We named him Biscuit Jeff. I'm sure over time the 'Jeff' part will be forgotten, but I did tell Blaine he could pick the middle name that that is what he liked the best. So far he's a great little friend. I hope he is a great companion for the family.

That's about all I've got right now... More later...

Slab Update

The plumber came out last night and diagnosed a slab leak. He said he thinks the hot and cold water pipes are rubbing against each other since it appears that there are leaks in both pipes. He will take a jack hammer to my floor first thing tomorrow morning. I am trying to be optimistic, not freaking out too terribly much. The warranty company will cover a good portion of it, thankfully. Looks like we might still have a Hamilton Christmas after all. haha... My story may be sadder tomorrow, but again, I shall be grateful and content in all things, even a slab leak.
