Movie Review: 3:10 to Yuma DVD

3:10 to Yuma DVD
Starring: Russell Crowe, Christian Bale

The premise of this movie is fairly simple. A man who is a notoriously known murderer/thief is captured and will be sent to Yuma prison for execution. The story centers around the plight to get him to the train station by 3:10 p.m. on a particular day while the criminal's gang trails them. One man stands up for justice when no one else will.

Becky's rating: A-

Russell Crowe and Christian Bale both give A+ performances. I found it interesting that in real life both of these actors have either British or Australian accents, yet in the film you are completely convinced that they are part of the old West. Very convincing in their roles. Stellar performances worthy of awards. The story line was slow in parts, but overall captivated the audience's attention. There is a twist ending that is controversial. I loved it and felt it ended the exact way that it should have. Brandon, on the other hand, felt like some of the characters were short-changed for their efforts. Can't say more than that without spoiling it.

Bottom line: If you like shoot 'em up Westerns, this is for you...
